Happy mattress delivery day!

Sorry about the radio silence last week. I wasn’t joking when I said I was almost out of food posts. Now we’re at the point in our wedding season where I’m cooking Hubster approved chili or popping something in the slow cooker and freezing all of the leftovers for fast meals for the next week. So if you’re looking for some inspiration, feel free to browse either of those links.

I’m here today to wish you a happy holiday! No, not Columbus Day. Did you think I knew it was Columbus Day before I popped on Facebook and saw some friends have today off? Well, I didn’t. Most companies don’t really care about Chris and his America discovering adventure. (Ok, I’m sure they care, but not enough for a holiday.)

But that’s ok, because I’m celebrating something more exciting than a white man sailing across an ocean. Today we get our new mattress!!

I should probably insert a remark here about how old I feel, but I don’t really care (I guess turning 30 will do that to you) because we didn’t just purchase any mattress. We purchased THE mattress. THE mattress that I spent hours researching and deciding it was THE one, thanks to the genuine eco-friendly nature (no toxic fumes unlike another wildly popular brand) and customizability. THE mattress that gave us sticker shock and was filed away as a “maybe in a few years.” THE mattress that was the clear choice when we visited the only store in St Louis that specializes in ec0-friendly options and were informed that Savvy Rest is leaps and bounds better than any other eco option. That one. THE ONE. It’s getting delivered this afternoon!

Go ahead, call me old for being excited about a mattress. I don’t care and I’ll care less when I snuggle up to THE ONE tonight (the mattress, not Hubster… though I suspect he’ll be there as well.)

UPDATE (3:15) – THE mattress has arrived! Here is the ensuing text conversation:

Hubster: Boom! Mattress!
Me: Woooot!!!! I’m jealous. I want to be there and lay on it.
Hubster: Lol. I haven’t even done that yet.
Me: Why not? You should lay on it immediately.
Hubster: I am now.
Me: The white sheets are clean if you get a wild hair.
Hubster: Not that wild
Me: No worries. I won’t mind seeing it sans sheets when I get home.
Hubster: Right, and you make it look prettier.
Hubster: I may still be on it though.
Me: I’m jealous.
Me: Get up!
Hubster: No… come home

So cute. Sounds a lot like how our conversation would go! Hope you are enjoying the new mattress. As one who has experineced some really bad mattresses and the resulting back pain, I can appreciate the joy in a new one!

We spent most of the evening in bed on Monday, drinking wine and watching a movie. It was awesome!
